Come test your digital literacy and explore tech safely.

Join us for a fun and interactive session to explore your use of technology and deepen your understanding of digital literacy!

As technology continues to evolve with AI becoming increasingly woven in our daily life, the challenge is no longer simply how to use it but also how to remain in control. This is where digital literacy comes in.

Essential to participation in society as citizens and professionals, digital literacy is defined at Grand Valley State University as the ability to use, create, evaluate, and engage critically with digital technologies to complete tasks safely and ethically in professional and civic contexts. Members of GVSU's Digital Literacy Initiative will bring the concept of digital literacy to life through an engaging set of gameshow-style activities designed to unearth and make visible its role in civic, personal, and professional life.

Participants will test their knowledge of digital literacy principles and connect everyday decisions around technology, including AI, to the broader context of digital literacy and the importance of foundational skills.

In this session, attendees will:
- Take a candid look at their approach to technology and its evolution.
- Deepen their understanding of the role of digital literacy in their personal and professional lives.
- Cultivate exploration of aspects of digital literacy, including evaluation, critical engagement, safety, and ethical use, through play and real-life examples.
